I enjoy trading and being in the chat room, with all the ideas buzzing around during the games. When we as traders take a pre match assumption on a trade and it goes right (or wrong sometimes) but when we managed to get a green screen, I believe that rather resting and sitting back we are missing out on opportunities to increase that profit.
We know Bingo mentions laying the current score at 1.1 and gundulf lays over 4.5 if 0-0 at HT, so this leads me to the point (long way round, maybe?) but why don't we compile a list of strategies where we can try for a way to make our green do more for us.
Also it may reduce the number of 'what if' questions being posted in the chatroom and give the experienced guys a bit more freedom.
Cheers guys
Steve

Yes SteveH, a very good idea. It's a sensible trading approach to take any green and 're-invest' it into another trade, providing that another trade becomes apparent as the match progresses.
For me, I often look at something that Bingo/Ads suggested some time ago: Look 2 goals ahead for both teams (depending on the time when any goals have already been scored...I would suggest within the 1st 20 mins), and re-assess the value of the odds for the '2 goals ahead' scores. If you identify value, then place a proportion of your green on those scores. If another goal goes in, then re-assess again and either trade out or 'hang in' if you feel another goal is coming...
Hope I explained that in an understandable way!

Yes something that can be done quite often is reinvest green into another trade. For example watching the game and its 1-1 with both sides evenly matched oddswise and pushing for another. Often then back 2-2, (anything up to around 55 mins of the game). Price you will get be around 8s and another goal either side will bring price in to 4 to 5s depending when it goes in. And if its 1-1 after 15 mins why not consider backing something like 3-3 for small stakes and hope for a couple more goals. Again, sides need to be evenly matched oddswise.
OR at say 1-1, 2-0, 0-2 perhaps backing over 3.5
All about reading the game and thinking, 'will there be more goals or not'.
As a Trader I tend to look for games where believe there will be goals and leave games like Birmingham v Stoke alone which have 0-0 written all over them!!

How about this, havent quite done the exact maths but..
1-1 early in the game...
Lay over 2.5 goals for normally lower then 1.15-20..
Then BACK 2-2 & 3-3.
Havent done the exact maths and stakes but tried it twice and bizaarely there were no further goals so i won my under 2.5 lay.
But im pretty sure a next goal would have got green to cover my liability, all depends on the staking i suppose.
any thoughts?

any thoughts? Yes, if the game is 1-1 early on that wouldn't be a bad shout. Danger is of course a late goal which would mean the 2-2 wouldn't come in so by using the above IF the score is still 1-1 personally I would then look to trade out of both at around 75 mins. The 3-3 would require small stakes as the price would be pretty high and that will move out quickly whilst still at 1-1.
Good thread, this is exactly what we should be looking at.

I`ve recently been looking at - and banging on about it in the chat room - the 2-0 scoreline when favourites are 1.6 or lower. By backing prematch (and I mean by that, hours not minutes before KO) you will often find 2-0 comes in a nice few ticks.
Barcelona v Sevilla on Tues, 5 jan could be a case in point. 2-0 currently on offer at 8.2. Punters generally expect Barca to score goals so very unlikely that price would drift. How many ticks you stay in for is a matter of choice but 8.2 > 7.2 would give you £10 for £100 stakes. Might take 10/15 mins to reach that point. Of course the danger is the dog scoring first so you can LAY the fav in the next goal market (as I write Barca Next goal is 1.46 to lay). Personally I would LAY fav in NG mkt for 75% of my stake giving me a £34 liability if fav do score first. In this scenario 2-0 would have to reach 6.0 to recoup the NG red - not an unrealistic price dependant on timing of the goal of course
Other scenario is that it is still 0-0 after 15/20 mins. 2-0 will definitely have come in and you can scratch the NG LAY bet as that price will have hardly moved
